From the Desk of the President
Governing Council
Healthcare Federation of India (NATHEALTH)
March, 2017

Dear NATHEALTH Members,
Indian Healthcare needed a truly collaborative, multi-stakeholder and inclusive institution that would endeavour to help in strengthening the health of the nation and progress of the healthcare sector… It is gratifying to see that NATHEALTH has shaped up to fill this slot in a rather short span of time.

For a large number of Indians today, access to quality Healthcare is inadequate and the health system's goals of access, affordability and quality remain rather elusive. An onslaught of non-communicable diseases(NCD's) has resulted in a dual disease burden even as the country continues to struggle to combat communicable diseases(CD's). Focus on prevention and wellness needs to increase, as has been put as one of the goals in the National Health Policy 2017. The policy aims to foster patient-focus, quality and assurance based approach as well as create universal, easily accessible, affordable primary Healthcare. NATHEALTH welcomes these goals and feels that pragmatically managed PPP's could be a positive enabler in achieving these.

NATHEALTH has been created with the Vision to “Be the credible and unified voice in improving access and quality of healthcare”. Leading Healthcare Service Providers, Medical Technology Providers (Devices, Equipment& IT), Diagnostic Service Providers, Health Insurance companies, Health Education Institutions, Medical Journalism companies, Biotech/Lifesciences related companies, Dental care companies, Healthcare Publishers, Healthcare Consultants and other stakeholders have come together to build NATHEALTH as a common platform to power the next wave of progress in Indian Healthcare. NATHEALTH is an inclusive Institution that has representation of small and medium hospitals and nursing homes as well as Healthcare Start-up companies. NATHEALTH is committed to work on its Mission to encourage innovation, help bridge the skill and capacity gap, help shape policy & regulations and enable the environment to fund long term growth. NATHEALTH aims to help build a better and healthier future for both rural and urban India.

On behalf of the Governing Council, I invite healthcare stakeholders to join hands on this unique collaborative platform and play a pivotal role in transforming Indian healthcare. With all of your support, we should be able to create a global benchmark by complimenting and supplementing the commendable work of the Government and collaborating where possible.

With best regards,

(Honorary) Brig. Dr. Arvind Lal President,
